Change in Policy on Availability of Public Tour Tickets to L’Hermione

Tour the L’Hermione – a replica of General Lafayette’s 18th-century ship, plus the largest and most authentically built Tall Ship in the last 150 years! Visit this 3-masted, 177 feet long ship and enjoy rope-making and sail-making demonstrations by the crew. Stroll through the Heritage Village along the Waterfront full of history, exhibits, living history characters and more. Public tours of the ship are available by free timed tickets that have been previously distributed. A very limited number of public tickets to tour the top deck of the ship will be distributedat 8:30 a.m.on Thursday, June 11 and Friday June 12 at the dock, but strict rules on the occupancy limit at all times must be adhered to ensure public safety. These free tickets will be offered on a first come, first served basis, with a limit of one ticket per person. If possible, stand-by tickets may also be offered on each day, if previously issued tickets are not presented within the applicable tour time, but this cannot be guaranteed. However, dockside exhibits, demonstrations and performances are open to the public at all times (no ticket needed). Summer Quest at the Alexandria Library

Cool off at the Alexandria Library this summer with SummerQuest and SummerQuest Junior! 
This year's theme is Every Hero Has a Story, and the library will have programs with magicians, musicians, animals, science, storytimes and more that are perfect for kids ages 0-5 and ages 6-12! 

Kids can also receive a fun prize if they read 10 books by the end of August! 

Programs are free, open to all interested families, and you do not need a library card to attend.
