Volunteer Alexandria is hosting our first Family & Youth Community Service Day on Saturday, May 21, 2016 to engage our youngest volunteers in service!
We will have two projects located in the Del Ray area for two different age groups. The first will be for elementary aged children hosted at the Mount Vernon Community School. Volunteers will help pack bags that will be distributed by the USO at airports to soldiers heading overseas. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn more about community service in Alexandria and how to remain engaged. This project will be from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Families can sign up HERE http://handsonconnect.volunteeralexandria.org/HOC__Volunteer_Opportunity_Details_Page?id=a0CU000000fdZkhMAE.
The second project will be for high school aged volunteers. Volunteers will be assisting with landscaping and gardening for the Duncan Library and the Mount Vernon Community School. Volunteers will learn best practices will helping two community spaces look clean and put together. This project will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Volunteers can sign up HERE http://handsonconnect.volunteeralexandria.org/HOC__Volunteer_Opportunity_Details_Page?id=a0CU000000fda5CMAQ.
