Virginia Sales Tax Holiday

When is it?

August 3-5, 2018. The 3-day sales tax holiday starts the first Friday in August at 12:01 am and ends the following Sunday at 11:59 pm. 

What is it? 

During the sales tax holiday, you can buy qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star™ and WaterSense™ products without paying sales tax.

What items are eligible?

• School supplies, clothing, and footwear 
  • Qualified school supplies - $20 or less per item
  • Qualified clothing and footwear - $100 or less per item
• Hurricane and emergency preparedness products  
  • Portable generators - $1,000 or less per item
  • Gas-powered chainsaws - $350 or less per item
  • Chainsaw accessories - $60 or less per item
  • Other specified hurricane preparedness items - $60 or less per item 
• Energy Star™ and WaterSense™​ products 
  • Qualifying Energy Star™ or WaterSense™ products purchased for noncommercial home or personal use - $2,500 or less per item

Virginia Cotillion Registration is Open

We hope you are having a wonderful Summer! September is just around the corner and we would love to have your children join us again for the upcoming Cotillion season.

All classes will be held at Belle Haven Country Club with 4th grade students meeting from 4:00pm-5:30pm and 5th-7th graders meeting from 6:00pm-7:30pm..

The Virginia Cotillion offers ballroom and contemporary dance instruction, as well as instruction on manners and etiquette for children, and makes social dancing accessible and exciting for students in grades 4-7.  Cotillion meets a total of six times on Sundays from September through March (4th grade from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm and 5th, 6th and 7th grade from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm) at Belle Haven Country Club.  During each class, our dance instructor, Penelope Norton, will teach students the fundamentals of dance.  Classes focus on traditional favorites such as the swing, waltz, foxtrot, pretzel, salsa, chacham, and shag, as well as popular line and current dances.  Each class also incorporates basic social etiquette.  The season culminates with the Snowball dance which we invite parents to attend along with their child.

#1. You must have a physical dated after May 1, 2018.
