We are excited to offer a summer camp this year at The Howard Gardner School, bringing our philosophy to life in a fun, week-long day camp experience for students in rising 5th and 6th grades, and in rising grades 7th and 8th. Weeks of July 16-20 and July 23-27.
Ecological Explorations
In this camp, kids will explore a different local natural area each day, learning about their environment through a combination of field experiences and play. Led by award-winning environmental educator, Addison Helmke, kids will be outside every day, reaping the physical and psychological benefits of being outdoors--and having a great time doing it.
The camp is limited to twelve campers with two teachers. $245/one week, 9:00-3:00*
Creative Self Explorations
Kids will explore their inner life through creative writing in the morning and yoga and meditation in the afternoon. Mornings will be led by Emily Pavot, co-founder of The Howard Gardner School and experienced writing teacher and learning specialist. Emphasis is on creativity rather than mechanics. Afternoons will be led by Emily Thomas of Alexandria Youth Yoga.
The camp is limited to eight campers. $245/one week, 9:00-3:00*
