Materials Playgroup*
Our Materials Playgroup provides children and their caregivers
opportunities to use arts and recycled materials to explore and learn by
doing. Facilitated by two collaborating teachers, each session includes
art experiences as well as environmental provocations that inspire
discovery and wonder. Participants also experience the satisfaction of
reducing the amount of materials going into the waste stream by using
discarded, reusable items in new ways.
Ages: 12 months - 3 years, Parent/Caregiver and Child Attend

*Materials Workshop - Using Clay and Wire with Children*
In this workshop, designed for teachers and parents, participants explore
the possibilities of working with young children using clay and wire.
Beginning with a presentation and open discussion, participants reflect
upon their own practice while experimenting with both clay and wire.
Practical information regarding technique, terminology, and the handling
and storing of materials is provided. Numerous ideas for using clay and
wire with children are shared.
