Hurricane Sandy Update: City Opens Storm Hotline, 703.746.HELP

To report non-emergency issues related to Hurricane Sandy, residents are asked to call the City’s storm hotline, 703.746.HELP (4357). To report a police, fire or medical emergency, please call 911. To report power outages, contact Dominion Virginia Power at 866.DOM.HELP (866.366.4357).
A High Wind Warning is now in effect for Alexandria through Tuesday evening, October 30. Residents are urged to stay home and remain indoors as Hurricane Sandy begins to move through the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. A Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday evening.
Today, all Alexandria government facilities, public schools, courts, non-emergency services and public transportation services are closed or cancelled. In-person absentee voting will not take place on Monday. All trash collection services (including refuse, recycling, and leaves) are suspended for Monday, October 29. The City has activated its Emergency Operations Center.
