REGISTRATION
OPENS MONDAY FOR JANUARY PLANETARIUM SHOW
The week of Jan. 27 marks
a dark period in manned space exploration. Although decades apart, the losses
of the Apollo 1, Challenger and Columbia crews serve as a reminder of just how
dangerous manned exploration can be. In January's monthly community planetarium
show at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, Planetarium Director Bob Nicholson will
take a look at disasters and near disasters in manned space exploration. (Due
to the nature of the show's content, parents with young children are advised
not to register for this show.) The program will end with a walk across the
late January sky. The show will take place at T.C. Williams High School, 3330
King St., Alexandria. Registration will open at noon on Monday, Jan. 7.
Enrollment is limited to the first 35 people who register online or by calling the
planetarium at 703-824-6805, extension 6300. To allow more people access to the
planetarium shows, please note that we cannot honor bulk requests for tickets.
Please order only the number of tickets you need for your family. For
additional information, please email
or call Bob Nicholson at 703-824-6805, extension 6300.
