On Thursday, Aug. 15, Alexandria Transit Company (ATC) will partner with ACPS and Community Partners for Children for the annual back-to-school supply drive. The school supplies will be distributed to students at the ACPS Family and Community Engagement Center’s annual Back to School Family Night at T.C. Williams High School. Passengers who bring new, unopened school supplies (such as backpacks, notebooks, lunchboxes, etc.) will receive free rides on the DASH bus system. Passengers are requested to place their donations in the special blue bags at the front of the DASH bus. The Alexandria Transit Store at 1775 C Duke St., Alexandria, is also one of the collection sites for the school supply drive. Should riders wish to make additional donations, a collection box will be available at that location until Aug. 16.
