Volunteers needed for ALIVE! Food Distribution 5/27-28 Monthly, ALIVE! organizes grocery distributions for low-income families in Alexandria. As the May distribution falls on a holiday weekend, we are putting out a special call for volunteers. Volunteers are needed to set up the distribution stations on Fridays and to bag and distribute groceries on Saturdays. Individuals, groups, and families can volunteer either for one-time participation or on an ongoing basis. The sites are: Church of the Resurrection Church--2280 Beauregard ST. Once again, this year I'm part of a group of Alexandria boys at Gonzaga College High School who are getting together to help ALIVE! stock their annual Christmas Toy Closet.
Every year the ALIVE! toy closet enables families in need to select holiday gifts for their children. * Please donate NEW or GENTLY USED children's toys by December 11th. * Items may be dropped at 5 East Nelson Avenue (front porch) OR contact mjerakis@gmail.com to arrange a time for pick up.Thank you!
