FREE Trees

The Tree Stewards of Arlington and Alexandria are again giving away FREE TREES for Alexandria residents only. If you live in the city of Alexandria (you need to have an Alexandria address, even if it's technically Fairfax County) you are eligible to register for a free tree.

2, Come on Saturday October 10th to the Del Ray Baptist Church on Russell Road from 9-12 to pick up your tree. Any tree not picked up by noon will be free to any person who shows up to claim it!  

3. Take your tree home and plant it!! If you could take a picture of you planting your tree or your newly planted tree and send it to us (info@treestewards.org) we will put your picture on our web site (www.treestewards.org).  

This year we're charging a small fee for you to reserve your tree. When you come to pick it up you will be refunded most of the fee (there is a fee to use the eventbrite site for using their service).

Last year we were out of trees in about a day so don't delay.

Fall is the best time to plant trees!!

City of Alexandria to Hold Annual Earth Day Tree Sale on Saturday, April 26 "Great Trees, Great Prices, and Great for Alexandria"

City of Alexandria to Hold Annual Earth Day Tree Sale on Saturday, April 26
"Great Trees, Great Prices, and Great for Alexandria"

The City Alexandria’s Park Operations and Natural Resources Division will hold a tree sale on Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ben Brenman Park, 4800 Brenman Park Dr. The goal of the sale is to promote the preservation of the Alexandria’s tree canopy by encouraging the planting of trees on private property throughout the City.
The City’s tree supplier, Denison Landscaping and Nursery of Fort Washington, Maryland, will again provide a variety of trees, shrubs and annuals that are hardy and successful in this area. Trees and shrubs are sold in three to seven gallon containers that residents can easily handle and plant. Download the List of Available Trees or purchase and email or call the Urban Forestry Office to reserve your trees.
Residents can reserve trees for purchase in advance through Wednesday, April 23. No deposit is necessary. To reserve a tree, call the Park Operations and Natural Resources Division Office at 703.746.5499 or email dorothy.white@alexandriava.gov. When reserving your trees, please provide your name, telephone number, and the type and quantities of the tree that you plan to purchase.
Advance tree orders must be picked up between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26. Reserved trees not picked up by 10 a.m. on the day of the sale will be made available to the public.

Announcing the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District
2012 Annual Seedling Sale

All the seedlings in this year’s offerings provide food for both humans and wildlife.  YUM!!

Two packages are available:

The Incredible Edibles Shrub and Small Tree package is offered for $15.95 and includes two Elderberry, two Serviceberry, two Cranberrybush viburnum and four American hazelnut seedlings.

The Incredible Edibles Tree Package is offered for $11.95 and includes two Chokecherry, two Persimmon, two American plum, and one Allegheny Chinkapin.

**All seedlings are native to Northern Virginia**

"Great Tress, Great Prices, & Great for Alexandria"

City of Alexandria to Hold Annual Fall Tree Sale on Saturday, October 15
"Great Trees, Great Prices, and Great for Alexandria"
The City Alexandria’s Urban Forestry Section will hold a tree sale on Saturday, October 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church parking lot, located at 3001 Cameron Mills Road.  The goal of the sale is to promote the preservation of the Alexandria’s tree canopy by encouraging the planting of trees on private property throughout the City.
The City’s tree supplier, Denison Landscaping and Nursery of Fort Washington, Maryland, will again provide a variety of trees, shrubs and annuals that are hardy and successful in this area.  Trees and shrubs are sold in three to seven gallon containers that residents can easily handle and plant.  Download the List of Available Trees of purchase and email or call the City Arborist to reserve your trees.
