Special program:
April 19th: Self-Assessment in the Job Search
An important part of being successful in the jobsearch is having an
awareness of the "right" job to seek. The factors that determine the "right"
job are different for everyone. Individuals must be responsible for
understanding the types of jobs best suited to them and seek out only those
opportunities. Jobseekers frequently only consider their experience and/or
education when seeking another job. Often this can result in the position
not satisfying their long-term needs creating the need a new jobsearch in
short order.
We will discuss the concept of creating a long-term successful employment
opportunity by matching your personal and professional goals to a company's
strategic or organizational initiatives. Additionally we will cover several
methods for determining jobs that suit our:
. Personality Traits
. Personal Motivations
. Individual Passions
Come with an open mind, something to write with and something to write on.
And if you can bring a laptop or other device to search the internet, you
will get even more out of the conversation!
About the speaker: David Muir is a career coach and staffing specialist who
has taken his expertise in the realm of job search and turned it into an
educational curriculum accredited by Ohio State University and is currently
being utilized by the Virginia Employment Commission.
