Old Town Boutiques Give Back 5/19

Ready to do a little shopping in Old Town and support 30+ charities at the same time?  The Old Town Boutique District is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Boutiques Give Back Day taking place on Saturday, May 19, 2012.   This creative, small business driven, yet community focused event is staged to be the largest charity collaboration in the DC Metro area.

Each retail member of the OTBD has hand-picked a local or national charity/organization to support and honor on this special shopping day. On this day, retailers will create an activity or promotion in their stores that will benefit that charity of choice.  Here's who is participating and their charity of choice.  Keep watching this space as the boutiques add their selected organizations to support.

Olio Tasting Room	Bethany House of Northern Virginia	Donating 15% of sales. Plus the store will accept donations of supplies for shelter (e.g., blankets, comforters, toilet paper, cleaning supplies)
Periwinkle	Suited for Change	Collecting gently used professional suiting and accessories.  Donating customers will receive 10% off their purchases. (Potomac Greens location only).
Pink & Brown	K.I.D.S. (Kids in Distressed Situation)	Donating 10% of profits
Pretty People Vintage	Life Outreach	Donating 10% of sales
Red Barn Mercantile	Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia	Donating 20% of sales. PLUS giving free design advice all day; bring in your swatches and paint colors.  From 2-3PM, meet and ask questions of an architect from Habitat for Humanity.  Finally, kids will have their own arts & craft project  - building their own paper houses.

The Sugar Cube	Capital Area Food Bank	Collecting donations of non-perishable food items for the Capital Area Food Bank. Food donors will receive one percent off for every item donated (up to 20%).

Treat	Autism Speaks	Donating 20% of sales. PLUS selling raffle tickets to win merchandise.

Zoe Boutique	Animal Welfare League of Alexandria	Donating 10% of proceeds plus giving customers a free gift for their dog or cat (while supplies last)
