Join in the 18th Annual Walk to Fight Breast Cancer and help provide mammograms and other diagnostic screenings for uninsured women in Alexandria. The Walk will take place on Saturday, October 22 at 8 a.m. Parking, registration, the kickoff and the finish line will be at the AMC Hoffman Center Theaters on 206 Swamp Fox Road off of Eisenhower Avenue. Walkers can choose from a 1.5K/3.5K/5K walk or run, and the route is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.
Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children aged 2-12 when signing up by October 20. Register at www.alexcancerwalk.com. On-site registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the fee is $40.
All proceeds from the Walk support the Alexandria Breast Cancer Walk Fund, which has helped over 5,000 uninsured Alexandria women receive free mammograms and other diagnostic screenings since its inception in 1994.
