The Hall of Fame is the second phase of the Charles Houston Recreation Center Naming Project. The first phase of the project resulted in the naming of the Charles Houston Recreation Center gymnasium after Coach Louis Johnson and Mr. Morris Siebert, two individuals who made outstanding contributions to the youth of Alexandria. In addition, the Center’s swimming pool was named the Memorial Pool in honor of African American youth who drowned in the Potomac River when segregation prevented them from using the City pool.
