AFD and Alexandria Firefighters, Inc. IAFF Local 2141 are rallying behind Paramedic Amy Lusby as she battles breast cancer. 
To show our support, navy blue & pink T-shirts will be on sale for $20 (add $5 for shipping) through October.

Volunteer Tutors Needed

You Can Change a Child’s Life! 

Do you have 30 or 40 minutes a week to help a child become a better reader? The Alexandria Tutoring Consortium (ATC) seeks volunteers to work with struggling readers at City of Alexandria elementary schools in Alexandria’s West End. Tutors work with a kindergarten or first grade student once or twice a week, 30- or 40- minutes per session, from October through May during the school day. ATC provides training, lesson plans and books, and support.
