City of Alexandria Commission for the Arts Schedules Grant Program Workshops

For Immediate Release: September 10, 2012

City of Alexandria Commission for the Arts Schedules Grant Program Workshops

The Alexandria Commission for the Arts will conduct four grant program workshops to provide information about the Commission’s annual grant program, which provides funding to non-profit arts organizations for various arts programs, and instructions for the on-line application process. All applicants including past grant recipients are encouraged to attend one of the grant workshops. Workshops are held at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St., and are scheduled as follows:
  • Monday, October 22, 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, October 25, 2 p.m.
The goals of the Commission’s grant program are to encourage artistic excellence in the City; assist Alexandria-based arts organizations in improving their financial, administrative, and management capabilities; and provide individual artists with opportunities to create, perform, and present their works.
The Guide to Funding for Fiscal Year 2013-2014 and application forms for all grant programs will be available prior to the first Grant Workshop at alexandriava.gov/arts.
Completed online grant applications must be submitted by Friday, November 16, 2012 at midnight. In addition, one hard copy of the application should be delivered by 5 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
