Construction Work Scheduled at City of Alexandria Courts

The City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities is renovating the basketball court at Stevenson Park; the basketball court at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park; the tennis court at Hooffs Run Park and Greenway; and the multi-use court at Mount Jefferson Park. Residents will see equipment in use and crews at work during the daytime.
  • Stevenson Park, 300 Stultz Rd.
    • Planned Work: the court will be resurfaced and recolored. Please note that the new asphalt must cure for two weeks after installation before new lines and color can be applied.
    • Date of Work: scheduled to take place between April 21 and May 21
  • Mount Jefferson Park, 301 Hume Ave.
    • Planned Work: the court will be resurfaced and recolored. Please note that the new asphalt must cure for two weeks after installation before new lines and color can be applied.
    • Date of Work: scheduled to take place between April 28 and May 28
  • Eugene Simpson Stadium Park, 426 E. Monroe Ave.
    • Planned Work: the court will be resurfaced, recolored, and new goals will be installed. Please note that the new asphalt must cure for two weeks after installation before new lines and color can be applied.
    • Date of Work: scheduled to take place between May 12 and June 12
  • Hooffs Run Park and Greenway, 28A E. Linden St.
    • Planned Work: the court will be resurfaced, recolored, and fencing will be installed. Please note that the new asphalt must cure for two weeks after installation before new lines and color can be applied.
    • Date of Work: scheduled to take place between May 12 and June 12
Signs will be posted onsite with construction information. For your safety, please use extra caution when moving around the site.
