Alexandria Library "Take Your Library with You"

FROM THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA:

Alexandria Library Continues 75th Anniversary Events

Continuing its celebratory 75th year as a public institution, Alexandria Library kicks off its "Take Your Library With You," travel postcard campaign that allows patrons to share their vacation spots and reads as they sightsee, cruise and trek out to various destinations around the world this summer.  Accessible at any of the Library's four branches, the brightly-themed postcards can also be found at participating businesses that have joined this community-centered initiative. Whether it be a stone throw's away to camp at Shenandoah Valley, or a long-distance trip touring Thailand's Grand Palace, Alexandria Library anticipates the written feedback about travel and books, or ebooks--possibly borrowed from the library--that vacationers enjoyed.  One can also fill out a virtual postcard online. Postcards will be put on display and destinations will be highlighted on world maps at the branches for library users to discover more about their neighbors this season.
