Person at Barrett Branch Library

FROM NEIGHBORHOOD LISTSERVE:

Creepy alert- single man of latin descent with tattoos on both arms was
seen lingering behind the bookshelves staring at the kids. He then sat down
and continued to stare at the kids. He has shorn off hair- latin descent-
in the late 20s or early 30s.

I alerted the library staff and they told me that a similar complaint of
the SAME MAN was made last week- but they can't do anything unless he
solicits one of the kids. If you see him, alert the staff and feel free to
call the non-emergency police 703-746-4357 so they can be made aware of the
situation.

He is alone with no kids.

I saw him today and he was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue pants.

Please pass on this info to tell fellow parents and caregivers and make a
report with the library staff if you see this lurker in the children's
section of the Barrett Library on Queen St.

  3. The police are not mind readers people. If you see this man do the responsible thing; pick up your cell phone and call the police immediately!!!! You shouldn’t be surprised to find the police will respond and check him out. To write a blog about this man days after he is gone does nothing to help identify him and learn his intentions or keep society safe.

  4. anonymous - thank you for your comment. I was just sharing the information with my readers, making them aware of what was being posted on the neighborhood list serves.
There were many threads on this subject on the list serves - I didn't cover all the comments/threads, and I probably should have, but the volume was overwhelming.
Action has been taken - the police were notified, and apparently a parole officer was notified.
