Tuesday, June 26, 6:30-7:30 p.m. -- YA Book Club for Adults
Our book this month is a favorite of several HFB staffers. Written by Dodie Smith, of 101 Dalmatians fame, this first novel was written while she was living in California, homesick for England. The novel relates the adventures of an eccentric English family struggling to live in genteel poverty in a decaying English castle during the 1930s. The first person narrator is Cassandra Mortmain, who chronicles the escapades of her family when a pair of American brothers move in next door.  Please call703-548-4092 or e-mail if you like to join our group!

Saturday, June 30, 3:30-5:00 p.m. -- A quartet of young adult authors!

Elizabeth Scott, Diana Peterfreund, Alethea Kontis and Brigid Kemmerer will join us for teen panel.

Elizabeth Scott introduces her latest book, Miracle, the story of a young girl who is the only survivor of a plane crash.  Ages 12 and up.

Inspired by Jane Austen's Persuasion, Diana Peterfreund's for Darkness Shows the Stars is a breathtaking romance about opening your mind to the future and your heart to the one person you know can break it.  Ages 13 and up.

Alethea Kontis' foray into the young adult world is Enchanted. It isn't easy being the rather overlooked and unhappy youngest sibling to sisters named for the other six days of the week. Sunday's only comfort is writing stories, although what she writes has a terrible tendency to come true. Ages 13 and up.

The Kirkus review of Storm by Brigid Kemmerer describes it as "(a) refreshingly human paranormal romance. Ages 13 and up.

Call us at 703-548-4092, or e-mail us to reserve your books!
