T.c. Williams student dies over the weekend

FROM THE TC WILLISMS PTSA NEWSLETTER: I am very sorry to share with you that one of our senior students died this weekend.    The family has requested that information about the cause of death not be shared at this time.    T.C. Williams will have a space set aside for families on Tuesday... the conference room next to Principal Maxey's office.   The school will have professional staff and quiet spaces reserved for students and staff for as long as we need to.   We will be providing more information about our plans for Tuesday and for the rest of this week, but our general approach will be to respectfully provide facts, to continue our scheduled activities and classes, and to provide support for those who need it.   Members of our Crisis Response Team are available to meet with students individually and in groups today as well as over the coming days and weeks. Please contact the school office if you feel your child is in need of additional assistance; we have a list of additional school and community mental health resources.   I know that all of you join me in expressing our sympathies for the family and in feeling sadness for the passing of one of our students.   We share a common bond of caring for one another, of coming together in times of need, and of recognizing how precious and fragile life can be.   Mort Sherman   -- Dr. Morton Sherman ACPS Superintendent of Schools
